Corporate Vice President
Citizen Application Platform Group
Charles leads the Engineering and Program Management teams for the Low Code Application Platform (LCAP) in the Business Applications Group. The LCAP team includes the Dynamics 365 platform, PowerApps, Microsoft Flow, AI Builder and the Common Data Service products. He leads a team of 920 engineers that span Redmond, Paris, Hyderabad and Toronto.
Under his leadership, the Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement service moved to Azure and evolved into a fully managed SaaS – on a single version and with regular updates. The Dynamics 365 platform is now one of the largest fully Azure hosted SaaS products in the world, is deployed in 18 datacenters, and supports the entire Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement business ($1+ Billion cloud ARR). During that same time, PowerApps evolved into a leading low code application offering, becoming a strong Leader in the corresponding Gartner Magic Quadrant and Forrester Wave. PowerApps also rapidly grew in the past year, with a 300% increase in Monthly Active Users and 700% increase in production applications.
Before that, Charles worked in Azure for four years, leading the engineering teams that created Azure Resource Manager, Azure Autoscale, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Activity Logs as well as several other management and monitoring related capabilities.
